Edition 1 — 1/50

Statelessness, Thomas Wagster's debut chapbook of poetry, is the post-historical lived experience lapping upon the shores of the American present, languishing in the face of a perpetually deferred future once promised to us. This work is as much about the possibility of speaking in the shadow of the new-media event horizon, as it is full of compact, personal meditations on death, loss, trauma, homesickness and the conflation of their effects on the body sensorium.

Statelessness’s movement with language is an unwavering velocity unbound, yet tethered on all sides. As cavernous as enclosed, not all doom and gloom, Statelessness, is in manic pursuit of disrupting the ruinous rhythms occupying the spaces of hope. This is verse at 'last call', urging us, 'Yeah, let's cross streams/let's connect.'
